Pyramids, One of the Seven Wonders of the World that is still a mystery. The largest standing structures on the face of the earth are quadrilateral shape at the base and all the ends meet at one point on the end point making four sides of a pyramid. Great Pyramid of Cholula is the greatest pyramid of all. The most famous ones are the pyramids of Egypt. It is believed that the peaks of the pyramids were covered with gold and white lime stone was used to cover the faces which were later removed. There are many mysteries that remain unanswered and unsolved even today.
The great pyramid of Khufu has a mystery related to its placement. Its placement is exactly in the centre of gravity of its continent. Moreover it divides the earth's land into equal quarters as it lies in the center of the earth (land mass). The remarkable thing is that these structures were built around 2600 B.C. which makes it impossible for such accurate calculations to be made. The number of blocks of stone that were used to build the structure was about 2.3 million.
The ratio of the slant height to the half base height is equal to the golden ratio which is only contained by the relationship between earth and moon in the solar system. So a question arises that why would the Egyptians build a Pyramid using the golden ratio? And what significance would it make to them. Taking the mystery deeper, the perimeter of the sun's pyramid as well as the great pyramid is nearly equal only the difference is that the height of the sun's pyramid is nearly half as that of the great pyramid. But till date there has not been any clue to all the mysteries that still stand tall in front of all the scientists and archeologists that are researching on the structures. via
